Wow! It’s hard to believe it has already been one year since KnoxMac launched as a full-time business. The idea was to focus entirely on Apple and Macintosh support and that’s what we did. The timing was good too. Right now is one of the most exciting times to be involved with Macs. The iPhone has led to more people buying Macs for their homes and businesses and we won’t have to wait too much longer to see the effects of the iPad.

I know 2009 was a tough year for a lot of people and I feel very fortunate to have been able to live the dream of having my own company. My very supportive family, friends, and clients have made this first year very memorable and so much fun. Year two starts now, so stay tuned for some new and exciting things on the horizon. If you have a Mac, we can help!

Thank you all so much!
Brian Jacobus – Owner

And a little trip down memory lane….

With the holiday season upon us it is a great time to update your Mac. A bigger hard drive and more RAM will make your machine almost new again! We can make the process easy too. We’ll upgrade your hard drive and clone all of your data from your old drive to it. The result is the same system you were used to with even more space to store your documents, pictures, and music. RAM is very affordable and will make your Mac perform even better.

Apple has just released an update to Snow Leopard that includes a bunch of fixes. Improvements to fonts, graphics, Mail, MobileMe, network file systems, printing and faxing, and Safari are what to look forward to.

Now that we are in to the second update release of Snow Leopard it seems like a good time to upgrade if you have been waiting. Make sure to check any 3rd party software you rely on and look for issues with any printers you use on the manufacturers website before doing any operating system upgrades.

It looks like Apple will support Windows 7 via Boot Camp before the end of the year, but the new functionality will require a software update. Most Intel Mac’s will work with Windows 7 and Boot Camp. If you have an iMac, MacBook Pro, or Mac Pro from 2006 you will be unable to use Windows 7 and Boot Camp.
